ISLINGTON QUALITY ASSURANCE SCHEME

This is an Investors in Children accredited quality assurance scheme developed by the Islington EYDCP (Early Years Development & Childcare Partnership) and local providers.

The Scheme is a way of ensuring childcare provision and childminders achieve the highest standards of care and early education. The assessment procedure goes beyond the requirements for Day Care Inspection and is broader in scope than the Combined OFSTED inspection and is based on seven modules:

Module 1. Working with parents, carers, families, friends and the community

Module 2. Meals, snacks and celebrations

Module 3. Working together as a team

Module 4. Supporting, evaluating and extending children’s learning

Module 5. Developing and learning through play

Module 6. Meeting everyone’s needs – valuing diversity through equal opportunities and inclusion

Module 7. Management and business
