We would like to inform all parents that Parents Evening will be held on Thursday 21st May 6pm-8pm. This is an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress and ask any questions about their development. Appointment sheets are currently displayed in Reception. During the evening you will be able to view photographs of a typical nursery day displayed on the walls. We are also serving drinks and nibbles and you will be able to meet and talk to other parents and engage with our team.
Please note that these evenings are only for parents, therefore regrettably we are unable to accommodate any children. Even on the 6pm appointments, you will need to make your own arrangements for your little ones to be collected and taken home by 6pm.
We would like to thank all parents, staff and children that contributed their time and funds towards our Red Nose Day event. The children had lots of fun participating in the many different activities that were set up and we managed to raise a big £100.00.
World Book Day
To celebrate world book day the children had a wonderful experience dressing up as their favourite characters from books and they had great fun discussing their favourite stories and characters.
McMillan Coffee Morning
Our next coffee morning will be held on Wednesday 10th June from 8am. This will be an opportunity for parents to come in and meet other parents over a nice warm cup of tea/coffee and enjoy some cakes and biscuits. All the money raised will be donated to McMillian Cancer Support
We would like to say a big thank you to Darci’s mother and grandmother (Katie and Michelle) for coming in and potting daffodils with the Green Room children for Mother’s Day. They provided all of the pots, soil, plants, cellophane and ribbons from their shop, Mrs Lovells at Highbury Barn. The children enjoyed decorating the pots and getting their hands mucky and we’re sure the mothers really appreciated their wonderful gift.
We also need to say thank you to Akira’s father Mikel for coming in and reading a book to the Green Room children in French. If there are any parents or grandparents that would like to come in to carry out an activity with the children, reading, cooking or sharing a talent such as music, please speak to the office to arrange a time suitable for this.
Friday Music Sessions
We are excited to have Stefano (The Frog Prince) and Cate (Mabel’s Music Monsters) join us on alternate Friday afternoons to teach our music sessions.
The children are thoroughly enjoying the different song choices and musical instruments that Cate and Stefano provide during the sessions and are developing their musical skills very well. Parents are very welcome to join us during these sessions.
Please can we remind all parents to provide their children with clothes that are clearly labelled with their child’s name, as this will help us to locate lost items quickly. Also those children that are toilet training will require several changes of clothes in case of accidents. Can we ask all parents of the children in the baby room to bring in hats and sun cream over the warmer months
Our new website is now complete. We now include the latest Menu’s, News letter’s, Important date’s and the monthly midterm plan as well as the beautiful professional pictures that we had taken of the children.
The Website address is still littleangelsdaynursery.co.uk. However, we do have new email addresses for your enquiries.
We would like to congratulate Afia on the birth of her daughter born on Sunday 3rd May. Both Afia and the baby are doing very well and there will hopefully be a name soon.
You may have noticed a couple of new faces around the nursery.
We would like to welcome Bably Begum who has joined as Early Years worker and is accompanying the keygroup with Sam and Michelle. Bably has come to us with a level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce and has 2 children of her own. Bably has settled in well, and the children have very quickly become quite fond of her.
Samiya has joined Little Angels as Dinner Supervisor, and is working in the green room. Samiya has integrated well within the team and is quickly learning her new role.
We have had to say goodbye to our lovely Lucia. Lucia has been with Little Angels for 14 years and has been a very valued member of our team. It’s not a final farewell as we are lucky enough to still have Lucia come in and teach the green room children Spanish on a Friday, following a 6 week break in Columbia.
