During the summer you may notice some new faces around the nursery, they are our summer staff. Little Angels uses summer staff to cover some permanent staff who are taking their annual holidays, allowing for us to remain open over the summer period.
Some of them have been Early Years college students, Early Years Teaching students and Middlesex University Nursing Students with us in the past. They have shown great promise in working with young children and have been invited back to work with us over the summer. While other summer staff have worked with us previously over past summers. It is also a great opportunity for us to have additional male staff working alongside female staff at Little Angels as role models for the children.
Little Angels recognise the quality and variety of work that takes place in a Nursery Setting and are firm believers in supporting students to enhance their future development.
All our summer staff have been employed following our safer recruitment policy, and we have obtained three written references and an enhanced DBS (Police Checks). A DBS is a disclosure and barring vetting system that will determine a person’s eligibility to work with children. As with all our staff team, summer staff will always be supervised when with the children. Our nursery policy is to ensure we do not have any staff member on their own with a child/ren at any time.
Summer staff can be identified by their pictures at reception, and they all will be wearing identification badges.
At Little angels we ensure that holidays are organised to make sure that we have at least one of your child’s key carers available. If you have any concerns regarding this, please feel free to come to the office to speak to one of the managers.
