“The Snow Dragon”

The performance that was held in the Yellow room of ‘The Snow Dragon’ over Christmas was a roaring success. The children and adults alike thoroughly enjoyed it! Hopefully we will be having a similar performance this year.

“Reptile Roadshow”

Due to the great success of last year’s visit by the ‘Reptile Roadshow’, we are delighted to announce that Richard Dart and his reptiles will be visiting us again. The children in the Green Room will be introduced to Lizards, Snakes, Tortoises, Millipedes, Frogs and even Chinchillas.

World Book Day

As previously notified, to celebrate world book day the children had the opportunity to dress up as their favorite characters from books and discuss their favourite stories.
Matilda .C’s Dad (Pascal) came in to read us ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in French, Lucia’s Mum (Stefania) read ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ in Italian and Olivia’s mum (Gina) read ‘Peppa Pig’ in Mandarin.

Monthly Topic

The topic for this month throughout the Nursery is ‘Traditional Tales’, we welcome any Parent’s/Grandparent’s that would like to come in and read to the Children.

Staffing News

Clarisse (Green Room)

We are pleased to welcome our newest members of the team.

Green room garden

Garden 2      Garden 1

Our new Green room garden is now up and running with much excitement from the children. Our bespoke climbing mountain is complete with colourful climbing rocks; large slide and secret cave beneath with sensor lights for dark evenings. We are in the process of having the background fences painted with colourful murals by an artist. And you will have noticed that we have new colourful activity cupboards with plenty of equipment to keep the children entertained.

The yellow ‘Water Wall’ will also be ready for action in the Spring/Summer.

Policy and Procedures

We would like to inform you that we have finished updating and revising our policies and procedures, we have taken into account feedback from parents throughout the year.  These are kept in the reception area and a selection is on the nursery website. If parents would like a copy of any of our policies and procedures then please ask in the office.

Taking of photographs at Nursery.

Please can we remind parents of our nursery policy on taking photographs of children in the nursery setting. Unfortunately we can only permit photographs of children to be taken by parents during nursery events such as Christmas and sports day.  This is to protect all the children in our care.  The nursery is aware of children who we do not have permission for photographs to be taken and therefore during these events we can and do take necessary precaution to support this.  So please can we reiterate that photographs should not be taken of your children during the normal nursery day.

Get Active, Get sporty, Stay Healthy.

This Term the nursery will be focusing on staying healthy and being active.  This is an important aspect of children’s development and is one of the prime areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

During this time the Nursery will be holding a range of events to support this theme.

On Friday 18th March we will be holding a bake sale fundraising for ‘sports relief’ selling healthy treats, that the children will help make throughout the day. The children will also be taking part in various physical games throughout the day.

On the 24th April, Cal (Co-owner/Director) will be taking part in the London Marathon.  Cal will be running a 26.2-mile (42.2km)!!!! Marathon through the streets of London.  This is to raise money and support for all the excellent work that takes place at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

In order to support Cal along in his training, the Green Room Children will be putting him through his paces by taking part in a sponsored ‘Mini Marathon’ around Waterlow Park the week before the London Marathon. As we would like to take all of our Green Room children we need as much parental help as possible to support our 1:2 ratios. If you are able to accompany us please could you inform the office?  We will be sending out further details nearer the time and sponsorship forms. All money raised will be given to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

If you would like to donate directly, please use Cal’s just giving page by following this link
