November Newsletter 2015 (Highgate)

“The Snow Dragon”

As our last theatre performance of “Emily Brown and the thing” that was held in the Green room last year was so popular, we are lucky enough to have the theatre company from Jackson’s Lane joining us again to perform  ‘The Snow Dragon’. This will be held in the Green at 10 am on the 26th of November.

We have also heard that a certain Mr Claus may be passing by with a copy of the book for our Green room children on the day of our Christmas party.

Children in need

We will be taking part in a sponsored walk to Waterlow park on Thursday the 12th of November in aid of Children in need, with a small group of our Green room children. We have distributed letters to any parent’s involved so any help with the walk or sponsoring of our Children would be very be much appreciated.

All staff and children will also be dressing in pyjamas on this day and taking part in various activities such as collage making and holding a bake sale at the end of the day with treats that the children have helped make throughout the day.

Staffing News

We would like to congratulate Franchesca on her recent role change to Teaching Assistant in our Quiet room where she will be supporting Rachel and Amanda. She will still be very much involved with her key children.

Franchesca has an NVQ level 3 in Child care and development and has been with us for over a year.

Christmas Activities

Our Children’s Christmas meal will be held on Tuesday the 8th of December this year; we will be making Christmas party hats and having a delicious traditional Turkey meal.

The Christmas Party will then be held on Thursday the 10th of December, this day will involve craft activities, party games, Christmas caroling and lots of other exciting activities. If your child does not normally attend on this day, you are welcome to bring them along but we can only accommodate for two adults per child to chaperon for the day.

We will be sending out a more detailed letter closer to the time.

Please note that during the current period of wet weather you may benefit from supplying a rain cover/ garden sack for your buggy. As we are busy at the moment the rack can get crowded and buggies may not be completely covered.

As part of the new Ofsted Inspection Framework which came in to effect in September 2015, one of the key changes is the way in which our setting is promoting the prompt and regular attendance of children that attend. Although attendance in Early Years is not mandatory we are required to promote and monitor children’s attendance. For this reason please may we ask parents to inform us of any absences for their child whether they are sick or on holiday. This will support us to ensure we are complying with Ofsted requirements.
